Beyond the possibilities of laser sight correction

In cases of high degrees of myopia and hyperopia or very thin cornea it is impossible to perform laser sight correction.

For the sight correction of such patients there have been especially developed and successfully used in all the world for more than 10 years implantable contact lenses ICL of the Sweedish-American company STAAR.

Nowadays hundreds of thousands of patients have got rid of myopia up to -20.0 dioptres, hyperopia up to +10.0 dioptres and astigmatism up to 6.0 dioptres and enjoy distinct and clear sight with the help of ICL.

For who is ICL implantation indicated?

Only the patient himself together with his doctor in charge after the detailed examination of his eyes can take the decision about the possibility and expediency of ICL implantation.

ICL correct the majority of refraction abnormalities such as hyperopia up to +10.0 dioptres, myopia up to -20.0 dioptres and astigmatism up to 6.0 dioptres.

Especially ICL are indicated to those patients, whose refraction abnormalities cannot be corrected by the way of laser sight correction. It is namely in cases of:

- high degrees of hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism;

- thin cornea;

- syndrome of the dry eye;

- keratoconus after therapeutic strengthening of the cornea;

- the patients with wide eye pupils and those who need high quality night sight.

! ICL are able to correct refraction abnormalities in cases where the laser sight correction cannot be performed;

! ICL correct simultaneously high degree of myopia / hyperopia and astigmatism;

! The process of ICL implantation is performed through the microtunnel without the cornea incision and does not need stitching aftewards;

! The ICL is completely invisible in the eye!

! ICL are made from the patented biocompatible material, assimilated by the eye in the best possible way. Special chromophor, implanted in this material, protects the native eye lens and the retina from the ultraviolet impact.
